2010 And Beyond

I really think I'm going to have a huge 2010! I'm not really sure where or when, but I can just feel a couple of huge breakout wins somewhere along the lines. In 2009, I got my first really big 4-figure score and a bunch of little small ones. In 2010, I want a couple more 4-figure scores and if I want to take it to the next level I really probably need to hit that 5-figure score mark. But anytime you can really say you made money playing poker, and a pretty decent sum at that you've done well.

With school and other commitments, I'm not going to be able to put in the kind of volume that I normal do in the smaller tournament events. However, I'm going to be playing in basically every single FTOPS, MiniFTOPS, SCOOP, and WCOOOP, so I will have ample opportunities to hit a huge score. With SCOOP and FTOPS coming up pretty soon I can say I'm going to be playing and hopefully I will hit something big.

I'll see you guys in the near future. Hopefully with some good news to an awesome start to 2010!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year all. I'm really hoping to have a huge 2010! Just a short entry right now, and something big later!

Full Speed Ahead!

Well, I am back for another blog entry. This one should be short and sweet but with yours truly you never know what you're going to get out of me. Just a few quick updates on what's been happening and what's in store in the coming weeks for me.

FTOPS has been going on and I have played a few events. I cashed in FTOPS Event #1 and then basically semi-bubbled FTOPS Event #2 at a fairly tough table. Event #1 was pretty simple. I basically got into a spot where I had to call off like half my chips in a spot where I should never be folding and getting my chips in the middle is an extremely standard spot and I was just unlucky. We are playing 6-max. Guy in the cutoff ships in like 10 big blinds, the button calls all-in for 7 big blinds, and I basically iso-shove with 77. I was shipping anyways so I do not really think the button calling all-in in this spot really makes a difference. Anyways, cutoff has KK and the button has AA, so I lose bout half my chips. After, I get it in KQ vs. A8o and lose the flip and I'm out.

In FTOPS #2 (7 Game Mix), I was at a pretty tough table pretty much the whole time I played. Doc Sands who is a top 10 ranked player on Pocket 5's was at my table the whole time. PiMaster was a name I recognized from the tourney regulars. Also, browndog15 was at the table and he had some pretty sick results. Basically, I did extremely well in the limit games. I do not think I made many mistakes. I probably lost a bet here and there, but overall I thought I played really well in the limit games. I played really well in the big bet games except for a couple hands that basically showed me my demise.

I got into a hand with Doc Sands blind v. blind. He raised it up and I called with QJo. Flop was a bunch of rag cards something like 972. He bet and I floated behind. Turn came a K(972). He checked called my half pot bet. River came a 6(K972). He check tank called my half pot bet with TT and shipped the bot. If I was thinking, I would not have gotten into a pot with one of the best online players in his best game. However, I tried to out play a player in a tournament that I really had no business trying to out play in that spot. In a normal No-Limit tournament, I think my play is fine, but in that spot I think it's table.

I busted like 80ish out of the money when I got KQJT v KK64 of browndog. I flopped a wrap, but true to form I bricked out. This play is probably really standard in this situation. I had something like 25-30 big blinds, so getting it in with a pretty good hand like 4 connecting paint cards is a good situation.

I skipped playing on Sunday just because I felt like complete crap. I started up and listened to most of the WSOP final table coverage and woke up feeling like I got hit in the head with a bowling ball. So when I'm sick I absolutely hate playing poker. Ultimately, I decided to skip the FTOPS events that I had planned on playing and saved like $600 on a Sunday.

Up next for me is a couple more FTOPS events and all of the Mini FTOPS events. I'm going to play the NL Cashout event which should be very interesting, the 216 NLHE, the $129 NLHE, and the Main Event. Run good one time! Also, I decided I was going to play all the Mini FTOPS events just because I have ran well in them before and it is basically 26 events for something close to $1k. I might run some prop bets out of the Mini Series. I almost definitely going to do something with TheMatrix and if there is something on Pocket 5's I will probably get in that prop bet as well. I will definitely keep you guys posted on any of those props.

Finally, I want to congrats Joe Cada on shipping the WSOP Main Event and becoming the youngest champion of the event. Congrats jcada99! Shippage for the online world!

I'm done! Out!
