Seeing Double

Looking at the title of this post, you are probably thinking I have some sort of vision problem and that I really need to get that checked out soon. But wait... NO! you're wrong and seeing double in this case is somewhat good and somewhat bad depending on the perspective you are looking at the devious seeing problem from.

Anyways, I played my first full schedule online in a long while. Starting off the session, I just about wanted to throw my laptop out the window but considering I'm downstairs underground that isn't possible. Yes, I'm thinking clearly. I busted out of the first few satellites I played and busted out of the huge $26 MTT on tilt in an easy squeeze with 18 big blinds and pocket nines and a last the original raiser has pocket kings and the flat caller has pocket queens. No dice on the 2 outer and I'm done there. In this same time, I'm playing the $3 re-buy and I'm just pumping money in to the tournament. I can't win a flip to save my live and even ended the re-buy period in for at least $50+ and last then minimum chips because I lost the last hand before the re-buy period ended and I had like 300 chips left, Fuck my life! Things do change tho...

I start up the Daily Doubles on Tilt which I almost didn't play, but I tilt play the games. If you're not familiar with the Double tournaments on Full Tilt, there is a prize pool that is separate from the prize pool of the tournament. If you double cash (3% shared by everyone), double final table (10% shared by everyone), double win (75%), or have the best finish (3%) in the two combine tournaments you earn a percent of the separate prize pool which is indicated by the numbers in the parentheses. And turned out well. Even the $3 re-buy went well. I built up big stacks in both the doubles and was even in the top 10 in each event with around 100 people left. I basically got 30th and 15th in the events respectively after running like a 3 legged race horse for the last hour of both tournaments which doesn't sound too great but it was the best overall finish and earned me $701 plus $25 for the double cash as well. I cashed in the $3 re-buy but that's not exciting and was only a min-cash.

Looking forward, I'm probably going to put in a couple more sessions online and play a big Sunday schedule as well. Hopefully, I can hit a big score in the coming weeks because I can feel it coming and thought it was last night but a last it was not to be. I think I'm playing well which is a big key to poker even if you're not playing well if you think you are confidence can carry you a long well in this game. Cards can help, too.

I'm done... for now...

Hello Blog... I Have Missed Thee

Apparently, my eager to continue blogging has drastically diminished. The days of me waking up every morning jumping on the laptop and writing have vanished into the warm muggy July Missouri air. But do NOT fret... I am back and blogging in the blog that seems to die every month or two, but always seems to keep coming back for more. I know, I know. Where are all the juicy stories of pokers greatest mind? (That's me right?). They are back and back for good (I hope).

Life updates... Apparently, the University of Missouri hates me, and I will not be attending the oh so great J-school this fall. If everything goes as planned, and my planning does not seem to work out very well, I will go UMKC in the fall and then go from there. There is a possible chance I will be at Mizzou for the spring semester, but most likely I will go a year at UMKC and then be on my way to Mizzou. Hopefully that plan works out. I would really like to get my freaking Journalism degree in the next decade. I have a good 10 years to get that, right? That's about it in terms of my life. Exciting right?

Poker seems to be a little more exciting for me. I have hit an upswing! The Mini Series of Poker on Full Tilt has definitely be a huge series for me. Overall on the series I am up a couple thousands which is huge considering I was almost online busto a couple of weeks prior to the series beginning. I made the final table in the $25 Omaha 8/ Stud 8 mixed event. I ended up 4th in that event for a little of $1k. I also cashed in many events including a variety of games such as 6-max limit hold'em, no limit hold'em, HORSE, Omaha 8 limit, and pot limit omaha 8. I think my game has really evolved and I'm just not a one trick pony and can play all of the games well as shown by my recent results.

The upcoming weeks and months there are a few series that I'm really looking forward to and should play in a few events. In August, Full Tilt is having there oh so popular, oh so awesome, oh so happens every two months and why people complain about that makes me sick FTOPS events. I'm going to take a shot at satelliting in to the events. I'm for sure going to play one of the two $100 events and if I would choose now, it would probably be the Ante Up For Africa event just because it's charity and it's a cool event to have online as well.

After the FTOPS in August, Full Tilt is having a mini-FTOPS similar to the MSOP and the mini-FTOPS they ran earlier in the year. I think they learned from their mistakes and are not going to run the FTOPS and mini-FTOPS at the same time which will probably increase the number of runners in each event. Kudos to Full Tilt on this. P.S. Synchronized Breaks are AMAZING! Get on that Poker Stars!

Speaking of Poker Stars, WCOOP is coming up in September. The schedule looks amazing and looks way out of my bankroll. There's always the hope of magically winning one of the luckbox satellites that Stars runs and then magically running through a field of thousands to take down a World Championship of Online Poker title, but that's no where close to realistic especially given that Poker Stars satellites have extremely terrible structures and there's no way in hell I can run well for even a faction of time on Stars to have even a chance to win a satellite. In other news, I might play the 2-7 triple draw event just because I PWN at 2-7. I would love to play the 2-7 single draw event, but it is a rebuy and way out of my bankroll. Going to war with only one bullet, especially in 2-7 NL, would be on the edge of suicide (in poker terms, of course).

That's it.. I'm done.. More to come..
