I'll quickly start by updating the last No Limit Qualifier. Basically, I ran into a crazy Russian and a guy who knew he had him beat but totally forgot about me. I raised to 90 with aces, the crazy Russian (who had been raising and re-raising every pot) shoved all-in, a guy behind him shipped all-in, and I snapped call. The board runs out JT987. Crazy Russian has K5o, guy behind has AQ, and my aces are left in dust. Isn't poker fun?
The WBCOOP was really disappointing. I finished 254 out of 369 which is terrible. I basically played about as well as I could in the first hour and a half and then ran into a guy trying to give away his chips with the best hand (I'll explain in a bit). I eventually bluffed of my chips in my bustout hand and it was goodbye, see you next year for me! I'll give you guys and interesting hand, the idiot hand, and my idiot hand and then that will be the official closing of WBCOOP 2008 for me.
Blinds: 15/30 Stacks: Me- 5445 Villain- 4030
My Hand: AhKc
Villain raises to 90 and I just flat call. I do this for a few reasons. I don't really want to play a huge pot this deep and this early in the tournament. Also, I can either outplay my opponent or dump the hand if I miss.
Flop: 8s 3h 2h
Villain bets 150 and I float and call. I know the villain doesn't have the nut flush draw and I have backdoor hearts and most likely the best hand.
Turn: Kd Board: 8s 3h 2h Kd
Villain bets 420 and I call again. I'm pretty sure I have the best hand, but I don't want to raise and then get shoved on since I can only bet bluffs in that spot or maybe if he goes crazy with Kx but that isn't likely.
River: Js Board: 8s 3h 2h Kd Js
Villain checks and I bet 655. Villain folds! This is a pretty easy value bet. If villain has a set, KJ, and most likely any other 2 pair he is going to be betting this river, so it's an easy value bet here.
This next hand was where it started to head downhill. It's so sick that he just tried to give away his chips to me and actually thought he was drawing dead when he called.
Blinds: 50/100 ante 10 Stacks: Me- 5880 Villain- 2370
My hand: AsQh
Villain min raises to 200 and I just call. I probably should have 3-bet/called, but this should have worked out better. It didn't!
Flop: Tc 5h 4h
Villain bets 300 and I float just because I thought he had nothing.
Turn: Td Board: Tc 5h 4h Td
Villain bets 500 with 1400 behind. I was almost sure he had a big air ball and I raise to put him in. He does the whole gg shit and calls with Ace-King high. Yes, that's right Ace-King high. The river bricks and I lose a big portion of my chips. After the hand:
AlexFSK said, "indeed, i had too"
AlexFSK said, "lol i rly had him on a set haha"
Is he really that big of an idiot to call off all his chips thinking he was drawing dead? Can I really be mad if I make him think I have trip tens and then he calls off his chips like that? That is really frustrating. It was all downhill from there.
No fancy hand display for this one. Basically, I raised with KQs from utg with like 28 big blinds and got 2 calls. The flop came low cards and I c-bet and got one caller. I really thought he had like ace high and a gut shot and would flop if I check-raised him. I checked and he really under bet the pot which is really strong or really weak. In this case, it turned out to be really strong as he flipped over a set and had me drawing dead. Good game me!
I thought overall I played really well in the WBCOOP series. It's really frustrating to have the series end the way it did especially since I almost never put my tournament life on the line drawing dead. I know I'll bounce back from this defeat and make a big leap into 2009. The positive from WBCOOP is that I won two Step 3 tickets which I'm hopefully going to turn into two Step 4 tickets. If I win a step 4 ticket, that ticket is most likely going towards the Sunday Million or possibly a SCOOP event. Overall WBCOOP Grade: B-.
The whole next week I'm basically going to be taking it easy. That means no poker until next weekend. The Holiday tournaments on Full Tilt and Guinness World Records event on Poker Stars will bring me back to the felt. Hopefully, I can do well in those. I might try my Step 3's as the Sunday Million is a 2.5 Million Guarantee tournament. I'm still undecided on that decision. Anyways, I want to wish you and yours a very Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year. Peace!

Sorry I haven't been able to update the last couple of days. I've basically been playing the events and then doing other obligations I have. Surprisingly, I have been really busy lately, so I've even had a hard time to find time to play these WBCOOP events. However in the tournaments I have played, I have had some success. These WBCOOP has definitely been fun!
I planned on playing the PL Omaha 8 or Better, but to be honest I feel asleep and missed registration. That tournament was going to be fun, but I'm a little tired buddy who can't stay up to 9pm. I'm joking of course. Oh well, on the the next unlimited hold'em event.
I don't remember to much about this event which means there wasn't to much that was really interesting in the tournament. I finished 130ish out of 550. Blinds at 200/400 50 ante. I had 4400. I pushed with T8s from middle position. There's a few reason I pushed this hand. A weak ace in early/middle position is more likely to be called by a hand that is going to be dominated. I pushed with A3 and get called by AJ, I'm screwed and I'm down to 3 outs. However if I shove T8s in that same spot, I'm only a 60/40 dog and have a legit chance to double up. Now, I'll shove weak aces from late position because I have less people to get through, and I'm also more likely to get called down lighter if I shove from late position. In this hand, I shoved T8s, got called by 9's, and lost the hand. That hand however is a good short stack ninja type of hand.
The next event was the 8 game mix tournament and the tournament I felt the most confident going into the tournament. I finished 15th out of like 450 runners which was a very good accomplishment but very disappointing at the same time. The highlight of the tournament though was playing at the same table as the "King of the Degenerates" Bryan "the Icon" Micon. I'm just kidding about the highlight part, but I was totally at the same table as an ESPN poker superstar.
The first couple of hours was easy. I got a guy to put 55 bbs in pre-flop with QJ against my AK and I held. The very next hand, I flop a wrap and a pair, hit the nut straight on the turn and get my opponent to check call both streets for all his chips with the worse straight possible. From that point on, I was in or near the top 20 for the rest of the tournament.
I really did have a game that I would get all my chips in. I already have one in NLHE and PLO. Of course, I had a very good time in 2-7 Triple Draw, but I also won a lot of chips in games I didn't expect especially stud high which is my worst game.
In the end, it really game down to two hands late in the tournament. First hand was in triple draw.
Blinds: Unknown Stack: Unknown
My hand pre-draw: 8532
A short stacked villain with about 6 bets left raises on the button, I 3-bet with a one draw, and the big blind 4 bets. I draw 1 and brick, bb draws 2, button draws 2.
The short stack gets it in.
I draw to a T8532 on the second draw. Check/check.
This was a tough decision. Only way to improve my hand is four nines/sevens/sixes/fours. I also can pair my hand which isn't good, so I stood on the T8. The short stack hit a T8432 on the last draw and won a big 3 way pot.
I got crippled when I had AQdd on a Q8x 2 diamond board. The other guy had 88 and turned quads. I run good! I won another step 3 ticket, so now I have two step 3 tickets and can hopefully turn those into some $215 tournaments and turn those into some money!
I'm probably going to play the last qualifier today and the final tournament is tomorrow. If you want to rail, its at 2pm central(adjust to your time). I'm hoping to final table this. The structure looks good, so that should benefit me. Run good one time? Good luck and peace!

This event was short and sweet even though I won 2 races to double in one hour. I flopped trips with 29o when it was called and I checked in the big blind and won a small pot there. I lost a pot when I had 97s in a 5 way limped pot and a guy stacked off 85 big blinds with K9 on a 973 board and rivered a king. I won a race with queens before that hand and won a race with jacks after this hand. I later busted in an interesting hand that I may have misplayed but I'm not really sure right now. I finished like 300ish out of 550(or around there) runners.
The play in the omaha tournament was lightyears ahead of the play in this event. It may be that this is hold'em and almost everyone is either extremely good or extremely bad. Hold'em is such an interesting game. It's had to be as bad as some people, but they really are that bad! I mean the play in this event wasn't terrible, but it was pretty bad. Too bad I can't dodge people bluffing with air. On to the hand:
Blinds: 40/80 Stacks: Me-4210 Villain-4595 Button-3k
Villain limps utg and I raise to 290 from utg+2, button calls, blinds fold, and villain calls. The villain in this hand is kind of spewy. A few hands earlier, they bluffed 3 streets with ten high no draw.
Flop: T52 raibow (990 pot)
Villain checks, I bet 420, button folds and villain checks raises to 960. The thing here is I'm almost always being called by a hand that beats me in this spot except a Tx hand. I'm almost sure he raises AT pre, maybe even KT, so i basically put him on air and called to let him bluff the turn.
Turn: Q Board: T52Q
Villain bets 1720. It's such a sick spot cuse I basically put him on QT or air on the flop which air includes Qx hands. I went with my intial read and ship the rest and he snapped with KQo. I brick river and I'm out.
I'm not really sure if I play this right. I think I might be able to fold the turn with 28 big blinds left (last hand of this level), but air is a big part of this range. It's really interesting and I was right he had air. His flop line screams air and he got lucky and I'm starting to think I played the flop fine. It may have been a mistake to try and get him to fire another barrel on the turn, but I think I could have gotten good value if he doesn't hit. Although, I could have just won the hand on the flop. Maybe I should have tried to get extra value. Not really sure!
Pot Limit Omaha 8 or better is tomorrow and I'm excited for this one. In the little bit of PLO8 I have played, I have done really well. I'm assuming most people are terrible at PLO8 and the field with be smaller and really soft. It's a late night event so check Thursday morning for the next update. Peace!

Goal number one in the World Blogger Championship of Online Poker is accomplished. I finished 16th out of 450 runners earning myself entry into the WBCOOP and a Step 3 ticket ($82). The play overall was a whole lot better than I expected. Maybe I only found the good tables or something, but I think there was a lot of good play in the tournament. I thought I played extremely well, got lucky at the right times, and only missed played one maybe two hands which I'll talk about later. This tournament was really interesting and had an extremely interesting situation that is unique to this type of tournament series. I really enjoyed playing and am happy to have accomplished the goal in a game I don't play very much (Full Ring Omaha! I play a lot of 6 max but there are kind of different!)I'm going to talk about a couple interesting hands and then talk about the unique situation in the tournament.
Blinds: 150/300 Stacks: Me- 7905 Villain- 6k
My hand: KQ92 double suited.
Villain opened from the button to 1050 (pot). I probably should have folded but I though that if I hit a huge pot, I would have a huge stack at the time and be able to bully the bubble that's coming up soon.
Flop: Q33 rainbow
I decided to check. Villain bets pot (2250) leaving 2810 behind. The bet look really scared. There was no way that the villain had a 3. He never, ever has a 3! I tanked a little bit and basically was hoping he potted it with like an AKxx type hand and would fold. I shipped and he snapped off with AAxx.
I basically got lucky after that doubled up a couple times then blinded down on the bubble. After the bubble burst, I got into a situation with blinds at 750/1250 where there was a raise/re-raise/re-re-raise and I had JJTT and a chance to quadruple up. I hit a ten ball and went from 5k to 22k. Lots of little hands here and there and was up to 70k.
Blinds: 1.5k/3k Stacks: Me- 70k Villain- 96k Short Stack Idiot-16k
My hand: AdKcJd7c
I open from mid position to 7175. SSI calls and villain calls on the button.
Flop: QT3 rainbow
I flop a semi-wrap. I check which is where i make my mistake. SSI checks and villain pots it for 26k. I have at most 13 outs (3 aces, 3 kings, 3 jacks, and 4 nines). If the villain in the hand has KQJx, we are drawing really thin. I probably should have lead the flop and hoped for a fold. I gave up control and the villain punished me for it. I think I may have been able to check/raise and got a fold but it's really doubtful. I think I was either going to lose all my chips or win a bunch. I probably took the safest route which is probably not the most +ev play, but i felt it was at the time. I ended up finishing 16th which is a huge start to the WBCOOP series.
This tournament was very unique in that it is a satellite to the WBCOOP Final, but it also has prizes for finishing good in the tournament. Near the bubble, I basically gave up a lot of equity by blinding myself down in order to qualify for the final. The thing is I gain a lot of equity in the other tournaments before the final. I have already qualified for the final so I don't have to worry about limping into the money in the other qualifying tournaments.
By blinding down and losing equity when I normally would have pushed way earlier, I have gained equity in the next 5 tournaments. I can now take risks and rape the bubble as I can't qualify for the Final again in order to gain lots of chips and get to a final table to earn more tickets and prizes.
I thought this was unique because I almost never blinded myself down to 3-4 blinds. You lose equity doing such a thing, but in this case I'm gain equity too. It's really a confusing thing even though it's simple and I don't know if a lot of people knew what they were doing or if they will take advantage of already being qualified in the future.
Thanks for reading. Be sure to catch up tomorrow as I blog about the 1st of 3 No Limit Hold'em WBCOOP events! Good luck and run good! Peace!

As you can see, I've done a little overhaul of the layout of the blog. I was getting tired of the green, so I put this one up. I'm liking it right now, but I'm not sure if I'll hate it tomorrow. We are kind of in an experimental phase in the layout of the blog. Anyways, if you find any color scheme problems, bad links, or some other problem, let me know. Also, if you have a layout you would like me to use give me a little buzz. I'm likin' the red right now though.
I haven't play much poker lately as excepted. I did however play a little bit of Chinese Poker with some friends of mine. I really hate taking money from my friends but they insisted that we play. I ended up like $200 playing $5 a point. I definitely ran like god, but it seemed like I hit about a billion huge 3 hand hands. It was really sick. I think I hit 3 straights 4 times. I definitely hope to continue to run this well into the new year. It's going to be the mixed games(Chinese, 2-7 single/triple, badugi, badeucy, HORSE, etc.) where I will make some money since I have a lot more experience in the games. No Limit Hold'em is getting so tough now. The average player is much better than the average player in a badugi game which is why I will be playing a lot more in the mixed game arena.
Sadly, my Missouri Tigers didn't but up the performance we were capable of in the Big 12 Championship game and got our asses handed to us. Tailgating was most definitely fun even though it was cold as shit! We end up in the Alamo Bowl against Northwestern which is a huge disappointment. At the beginning of the year, we were hoping for a National Championship. I know I didn't expect to be making an Alamo Bowl appearance. Although, I expect our seniors to go out in style with a huge day in San Antonio with a massacre of Northwestern. I guess there's always basketball right? (Top 4 in Big 12 and Sweet 16 appearance in my opinion).
This coming week, I will be having a daily update on the WBCOOP on stars. I think I will be be doing a short couple paragraph summary on the same blog so you can read each day as we go. If I shall make the final of the WBCOOP, I will make that its on blog and do a report similar to the MSOP updates that you can find in the archives. Also, Poker Stars keeps pulling me in. They added a $10+1 $500k guarantee tournament. A Guiness World Record attempt so to speak! They are also capping it at 35k, so there will be a $150k overlay. Talk about being a +ev tournament! Ship it one time Lee!
That's it for now. Be sure to keep up with my WBCOOP updates this coming week. Thanks and run like god! Peace!

I'm in one of those writing moods again, so I'm going to write another blog here. I'm also almost finished with an article for FlushDraw.org. I would really appreciate it if you guys swing by there and check things out. It's a little dead right now, but with a little bit from the old and some new people it will be running again! Anyways, the point of this blog is to talk about the upcoming WBCOOP, some high stakes poker action I recently witnessed, and my beloved Missouri Tigers.
I received my ticket(s) to the WBCOOP events. I'm really excited about these series of events as stated in my pervious blog. The schedule has a good mixture of games in which I believe I'm +ev in each. I'm really excited for the 8-game mix tournament just because I don't get to play very many of this type of tournament since there are not many available. If there is any tournament that I will finish in the top 72, it is definetly that one. It's always nice to play 2-7 triple draw against inexperinced players. That's probably the most exciting part of the 8-game mix. I'm going to be doing a report of each event I play (kind of like the MSOPs). I plan on playing each event, but I'm not sure. Last year's event got around 1300 people for the one event, so I'm sure the number in these freerolls will be about the same. The schedule is below if you want to follow my progress live or you can read my blog for updates after I have busted (or won) each event! Schedule and Prizes below:

The high stakes games on Full Tilt have been running like crazy recently, and I'm just amazed at the kind of money these players are throwing around. I mean durrrr loses almost 1 million one day, then he wins 1.1 million yesterday. It's just sick some of the swings involved in the nosebleed games! I posted some hands from yesterday's session in this thread, http://www.flushdraw.org/forums/showthread.php?t=183. I mean there's so many coolers out there where one can go from zero to hero or just one card can mean the difference between being up 500k and being a loser! All these individuals (even the shortstackers) are sick in the head! As I write this Phil Galfond (OMGClayAiken) has almost 1 million on the table. I know it's only 10 buy-ins but its still a sick ammount of money! By the way, Durrr is a beast. I can see why he has the potential to be the best no-limit hold'em player in the world. Watching a game where the shortest stack was 150 big blinds, and him just dominating it was sick! Durrrr is my hero!!!!
A little of poekr topic, but its my blog so deal! Tomorrow is the Big 12 Championship! My beloved Missouri Tigers take on Oklahoma! After last weeks disappointment in losing to a team we should have blow out, added to the fact that we are the 4th/5th best team in the Big 12 and get all this pressure from the media that we don't belong is putting a shitload of pressure on us! On the flipside, we have nothing to lose! Fiesta Bowl or bust! Oklahoma has everything to lose, however! Plus Oklahoma knocked us out of last year's National Championship, so we would love nothing more than to do the same to them this year. I'll predict an upset 51 to 42! Chase is going to have a big day (finally!) against the sooners.
On a realted noted, I'll be out in the cold Missouri air before the game tailgating! It sucks I don't have tickets, but there is nothing better than tailgating at Arrowhead. I might post some pictures of the atmosphere if I remember to, but I'll probably be to amped to remember! Should be fun! M-I-Z...Z-O-U!
*Quick Edit*
My boy Pacman is going to knock out De La Hoya! Yep, yep, yep! That's how's it's going to be! Pacquiao TKO in 9! It's going to be a good Saturday! Peace!

As you can see, this isn't going to be a carbon copied blog. I think I'm going to make a lot more smaller entries on this site. Entries that I feel apropriate to get out to all the sites I will, or if it's within my bi-monthly post deadline. I think I'm going to want to do a little bit more writing once I start playing again after this holiday break, so I'm going to break the rule I have already set forth and write as much as I like. So ha!
A few quick updates on the December schedule. Full Tilt added a Holiday 100k which entry is 2000 ftps. I'm obviously going to be playing in it since it is a +ev play to play for around 10k for first. Besides the Holiday 100k I'm probably only going to be playing the Double Deuce on Sunday and I'm still a little iffy on that tourney as well. I again bubbled two 26's today (one to an obvious cooler that I'm an idiot to fall into), so I'm going to be taking a break from Full Tilt for a while as I'm down basically a grand since the triumph that was the Midnite Madness.
Also, added to the December schedule is the World Blogger Championship of Online Poker (Hi, PokerStars). I really enjoyed playing in last years event, even though I didn't fare as well as I would have liked. The way Stars is running it this year is pretty cool. They are running 6 freeroll tournaments with entry to the Main Event to the top 72 players. Also, in each freeroll they are giving away prizes with the top prize in being like entry to 3 $215 tourneys (basically the warm up, million, and second chance although I'm sure you could enter the million 3 times [different weeks obv]), a $530 entry, and a $11 entry which is pretty awesome. The top prize in the main event is a $14k PCA package. It would definetly be nice to spend a week in the Bahamas before starting school. Also, there's EPT packages, SCOOP Main Event Entries (defeintly excited about this), and entries to steps and regular tournaments on the Stars schedule. Definelty excited about the WBCOOP! I'm kind of curious as to if you can win the packages in the freerolls more than once. It would be pretty awesome to win a bunch of Sunday Million/Warm-up/Second Chance tickets and then just ship the tournament 3 times! I'm definetly excited for the series! (Hi again, Poker Stars!)

Basically the month of December will be me catching up with friends I have neglected the past couple of months, having an awesome Chirstmas and New Year, and playing a couple tournaments on Tilt and the WBCOOP on stars. Even though it's a small schedule, I believe December can give me a giant leap into 2009. I mean I get a good run in the Holiday 100k (basically a freeroll), I have my roll set for a few months on tilt. If I do well in the WBCOOP, I could have a few shots at some steps, maybe a shot at the Sunday Million, even the possibilty of playing an EPT or spending a wonderful week at the PCA. Of course, I could go a big goose egg and I will still be heading into 2009 strong; however, December could be a big jump into where I want to go! All I have to say is "Let me run good many, many times in December, Lee! Please turn off the doom switch! One time, Lee. One time!".

I haven’t updated my blog in a long time; I’m sorry for that. I haven’t found much time to write what’s been going because really not much has been going on in my poker life, so I’m not really sure how long this blog is going to be. I think I’m going to just do a quick poker update, 2008 year in review (yes, there is a whole month left), and a quick update on the blog as a whole. (FYI: I’m not editing this so don’t go grammar Nazi on me please and thank you)
I know I don’t get many hits on my blog spot website, so I’m going to make carbon copies on all the affiliate sites (my site, FlushDraw, Railbirds, CardMafia, maybe a few more). In fact I might make this the first carbon copy, not sure? I don’t really know if people care about me or whatever but this way I’m going to get my writing out to as many people as possible as well as getting my poker career out there. If you want to read my archives visit www.baseballtim.blogspot.com (if this get’s censored send me a im or pm and I‘ll give you a link to my site). I’m probably going to do a bi-monthly blog in 2009 but that will be decided in my next blog.
So I’ve been playing some poker in the last several months since my last update. Biggest news is probably my 3rd place finish in the $10+$1 Midnight Madness on Full Tilt. I cashed for about $1300 in that tournament which was a giant leap in the right direction for where I want to go. I don’t remember much in terms of details of the tournament. I vaguely remember 3 outting a guy to survive when I had like 10 big blinds and went on a huge rush and accumulated a gigantic amount of chips in next 30 minutes or so.
One hand I do remember was on the bubble between me and another big stack. I raised with like QJs and big stack called. Flop came out 3 baby cards and I c-bet the flop and got min raised and almost insta-shove on him. He insta-folded and I smashed Qjs down his throat. That hand was definitely a highlight of the tournament.
Basically, the last 50-75 people in the tournament I went in to hyper-agro mode which worked drastically in my favor. Of course, I changed gears here and there, but I basically was raising 90% of my buttons and cutoffs and like 75% of my hi-jacks. I really got lucky with the final table seat draw as I had all the short stacks to my right and the big stacks to my left. You say why is this good? With the big stacks on my left, I can open a wide range and not be worried about being committed to a call where as if the short stack was to my left I’m almost committed to any hand that I open. The big stacks were playing extremely tight and I big a lot of blinds and antes just raising any two.
Four handed, under the gun raised and I flatted with kings on the button (the blinds had been squeezing a lot of hands) and the big blind shipped it in having us both covered, under the gun called, and I snapped called. KK > 99 (utg) > AT (bb) and I had about 2 million with about 2.7 in play. Three races and a 60/40 later, I was out in 3rd for about $1300. I can’t complain at all about that tournament and I gladly went m way even though I really felt cheated out of the extra $2k I make by winning which I probably do in that 8 out of 10 times. Sigh!
Since the Midnight Madness, it’s really been downhill for me in poker terms. I started playing the $26 tournaments on Full Tilt as well as a few FTOPS events. The $26’s on Tilt have really good value as they are all double stack and have a decent structure. Also, with the FullTilt token system, a bunch of micro limit players with the tokens take shots that they are really dead money in. It doesn’t hurt that first place prize is somewhere between $4k and $8k for the bigger guarantees either. It seems when I started playing higher tournaments my doom switch has magically smacked on in my face, and the doom switch has felt its wrath on me. I’m down almost 1k since the Midnight Madness which isn’t huge but it’s still a dent that hurts. I’m finding every bubble possible and losing every huge pot along the way. It’s frustrating to say the least.
The FTOPS were frustrating as well. I played Event #1 ($216 6-max No Limit Hold’em) and Event #24? ($129 Full Ring No Limit Hold’em Knockout). I won a satellite into both. In fact I won two into the $129 so I was freerolling that one as I was playing it no matter what. I eventually lost two races in both and good game me in the FTOPS. If you add in the satellite fees plus the events themselves I was about even in money for FTOPS which was good but frustrating in the same light. I really wanted to break out in these FTOPS and all I could do was run in the same tracks I have been making for about a year. Another moral victory for me but no victory in the actual “W” column. Oh well, there’s another FTOPS around the corner. God bless FullTilt!
So your asking why I’m doing my 2008 Year in Review when there is still December left? I’m going to be taking a break in December to hang out with friends and such over the Christmas break and I just need a break from the grind of poker. I may occasionally play a tournament or two that I see good value in, but I’m probably going to take a good break and let my account cool and get the run good juiced back into it.
I started out 2008 primarily playing the Railbirds Real Money Tournaments and was in the top 5 or 6 for almost over half the year. I basically stopped playing the tournaments and got into a position where I was going to have to put in insane volume to when and I didn’t want to do that with school and such, so I stopped playing the tournaments. I have to give credit to those who are in the top of the rankings. It really takes dedication to put in the volume it takes to get in the top. I may be back depending on the changes there are to the points system (I head rumors of point change, maybe not?). Aside from the Railbirds Real Money I didn’t really wonder of into many different tournaments on the various sites. I may play the occasional $3 rebuy or something but never put in a lot of volume. Around world series time when Full Tilt ran their Mini Series of Poker, I really started to shine. Finishing 11th one event that had 5000 people in it and finishing 25th in one that had 2000 in it, really boosted my confidence in my poker game. I even finished in the top 50 in the MSOP leader board which is quite an accomplishment in itself.
If you bridge to my recent update, that is about all my 2008 was. I felt like I did a lot more, but I guess it doesn’t seem as much when it gets written down. I feel like I accomplished many goals that put in front of me. My bankroll isn’t where I want it to be, but having more at the end of 2008 than the beginning is definitely awesome! I played in a few FTOPS events and got my first 4 figure score this year. Soul reads, big folds, final tables, and wins have been a huge part of 2008 for this writer. 2008 has been a success for me in my poker career! (Read my archives for all 2008 blogs and updates).
That’s about it for this blog. My next blog will be a carbon copy on all my sites and should be a list of 2009 goals and how my blog will be run in the future. If you need to contact me please see my site or send me an instant message on the many messengers or a private message on all the sites I’m affiliated with.

So I've had a pretty good little run the last couple of days. I've actually won a few step sit n goes on stars. Obviously, I've bubbled all the sit n goes to the atually event, but I'm at least getting there and having a chance to move on to the big show.I finished 2nd in the $5 Railbirds tournament on Full Tilt. Not going to lie, I should have won, but lose 2 races HU; not much I can do in the situation. If we were deeper than 20 big blinds I would have destroyed him HU. Oh well! I'm actually going to do a little report on this next one. I finished 13th in the Stars afternoon $3 rebuy. I was so close to getting that big first score, but once again I run bad when it gets down to crunch time.
I'm a little sketchy on a lot of the hand details and don't really remember a lot of the hands for the first few hours so this won't be as detailed as my MSOP reports but you see some hands and most of them I lost. First hand I remember is near the bubble.
Stacks: I have about 60k and opponent has about 40k. Blinds: 500/1k ante ??.. Opponent is HR_DUB who has like 100k+ in winnings and I assume a good player. He had been opening a lot of pots near the bubble. So he opens to 2500 I have AQ suited in the big blind and repop him to like 8.5k. And he re-shoves. Now, If this was a worse player I know I'm beat or raising but because of many threads I've been reading on Pockt 5's, the resteal has gone crazy. I thought I might have the best hand. I called he showed QQ and long story short I hit a flush and a big pot that put me in the top 5.
I got moved tables when I was 3rd in chips and of course the guy whose in 2nd is to my right, so at least I have position on him. The guy was the typical insane scandy player. And really he owned me in about 3 pots which I don't really want to say because I don't remember and I had a big fat airball every time.
Stacks: I had like 130k I think. Insane Scandy 260kish. Blinds: 3k/6k 600 ante. Blind versus blind He calls. I check KQ. Flop JT2. Check/check. I really didnt want to bet here cuse he liked the check raise a lot and I wanted to play a small pot.. Turn: 9 our gin card. He leads for 7888 and I reraise to 22222 with the nuts and he basically insta calls. River J put a 3 card flush and a possible house on the board. He checks and I value bet 31k here. I dont think he has a flush possibly a jack that there's no way he folds. If he has a full house he almost always leads the river with a bet. Anyways, he insta calls with T8 for middle pair. weeeeee!
I folded, and folded, and folded and finally find 88 when a guy opened shvoed from UTG for 20 big blinds. I instacall win the race versus AQ. YAY! I tripled up to like 600k. I have 230k. I raise to 18.5k pot short stack makes a pot committing raise guy flat calls behind. I insta ship with ??? ... the rockets, baby! AA holds for once against QQ and 99. Ship the chips. Next hand was a boo boo! Oops.
Stacks: 670k Opp: 310k Blinds: 6k/12k 600 ante. I open 99 from UTG to 29l and get called from utg+1 and on the button. Flop: Q58. I lead for 57k. UTG+1 raises to 132k button folds. I could really find a queen in his hand. So really I was hoping he was raising with air and I could shove of the top with the best hand. I didn't really think about a set at all. Could really see him calling with 55, maybe 88 from an UTG raise. But I could really find a hand. I should have folded but I did too much thinking and shoved. Insta call! Oh hi der 55!
I moved tables guy raises gets called and I squeeze shove with AJ suited. Win race and I'm back to around where I was before. I won another hand where a guy openshoved 16 big blinds with KQ and I won another race with 99.
Stacks: 800k Opp 900l Blinds: 10k/20k with 1k ante. UTG limps. villian in this hand raises to 80k and I call from the button with TT. UTG folds. Flop: 865. Villian leads for 130k and I call. I really want to see what he does on the turn. If i raise I'm almost committed to the hand. Turn: J Villian checks. I bet 230k and villian folds. A little position play right there. Next hand UTG limps I raise to 80k with AA Big blind ships 360k with AQ and I hold. Weeeee 2nd in chips I think at this time!
Stacks: 1.5 million Opp: 653k Blinds: 15k/30k 1500 ante. Oppenent opens from UTG to 80k. Folds around to me and I have 99. I don't really like flatting and playing out of position against a 20 big blind stack, so I ship it in which is really my only choice besides calling. He insta calls with AK and I lose a 1.2 million chip pot and the chip lead. I think I made the right play here. He's folding a lot of hands here that I may let hit if I just call. In this hand the flop was A72. I would have been in a tough spot cuse he's contiuation betting hear with any raising range. Sigh @ losing the big race.
Stack: 650k Blinds: 25/50k. I have an M of about 6 and 13 big blinds. I'm dealt 55. I'm never folding to a re-raise if I open hear so I just ship it in to maximizes my fold equity. Mister AK race winner insta ships from behind with KK and I get knocked out in 13th for a pay day of $160 with first being 5.2k for first. SIGHHHHHHH!!!!
When I actually play these events I make it deep and keep knocking on the door of a big score. I have a feeling its coming I just don't know where. I'm almost out of my downswing so thats good! I might put in a little more volume since I'm only taking 2 online classes this semester! Come on big score! One mother f'n time!
College football stars up this week!!! YAY! There's a lot of excitement around Missouri this year. If we can just get pasted Illnois in this first game we don't really have a test in a while! People are going to be really surprised with how good Missouri's defense is going to be! William Moore and Shaun Witherspoon are freakin beasts! Of course! Daniel, Maclin, and Coffman are going to be putting up big numbers. And Derrick Washington is a stud! Been watchin him since he ran all over my high school and he's going to do it again! I'm tryin to see if I can get down to St. Louis for the Illnois game but it doesn't look like it :-/. Anyways Missouri going to win this one! 38-20! Daniel goes for 320 and 2 TDs and the start of a Hesiman season! Maclin has 2 TD and D-wash busts for a 50+ yard TD! I'm a psychic! WATCH! M-I-Z-Z-O-U!!!!

Frustration

So I'm in a pretty nasty little downswing right now. It's not like a terrible number or anything but its the frustration that comes along with it that makes it terrible. I'm down a couple hundred on Tilt and Stars and it just sucks. I see friends come through and getting big scores and I'm just waiting for my turn, if I even have a turn. It seems as if I run well in everything that has no significance to me at all. Really, the only tournaments of late that I've ran well in were the MSOP's and I have a 10k (probably average of like 3k) suckout. Do I really care if I run like good in the Railbirds tournament that has a $100 first prize when I get my head stompped on in the tournament with a 5k+ first prize? No, not really! It's not like I'm playing poorly at all. If I'd been getting my money in bad in every tournament and losing that would be one thing. But when you lose 120bb pots with KK < QQ, or flop a set against a guys gutterball striahgt draw and they hit, or a guy calls you with air on the flop and backdoors two pair to beat your floped 2, it gets really frustrating. My schedule this semster for school is really light, so I should have plenty of time to put in some volume and come up with a decent score. I'm not asking for something huge (like I should of had... sigh), but just a decent score to get me out of my downswing and on to slighty bigger stakes than the ones I'm playing now.
Dear Poker Gods,
I know you have unleashed your furious warth upon me lately, and I would really appreciate it if the curse would be lifted from me. I promise to play well (like always) and feed all the children of Mexico. I just ask to swim (run in poker terms) like Micheal Phelps. That's all I ask. It's not like I've done anything bad to you poker gods. I could go all Euguene Todd Bro on you guys, but I'm not. Just a short little letter to the almighty poker gods asking for the wrath to be transferred to some people less deserving (I could name a few railbirds in particular, but I'll be nice). I love you guys!!!
At your mercy,
Tim
Ok I guess I should do a little report on my FTOPS event that I played. I won a nine man $19 satty to the $129 KO Unlimited Hold'em FTOPS event on Sunday. After getting suckout out on in two $10 mtt sattys with pots that would have guarenteed me a seat, I played a sit n go and won because well I have go game selection and everyone in the sit n go had a negative roi, lucky me! Anyways, I was just grinding along for the first 30 minutes when I run into a loose spewtard who was terrible. I have about 3k, villian has about 1300 when the hand begins blinds 25/50 (I believe). Guy limps in early position, I limp behind with A8 of hearts, spewtard limps behind, sb calls, bb checks. Flop comes AJ6 two clubs. checks around to the spewtard who bets 200, everyone folds and I call. Turn is a 3. I check spewtard bets 350 or something like that. He has like 800 behind and could have a number of hands (flush draw, a jack, some sort of straight draw), so I shove hoping he didnt have a bigger ace which I was almost certain of, well he didnt have a bigger ace just A3 turning a 2 pair and I lose half my chips there. 30/60 I have like 1400. Guy raises to 160, mp calls, I over call with 88 (I really should have raised or folded but I guess calling isnt terrible), another terrible player shove allin for like 4k from the small blind. THis player was really bad, so I tanked. If I could but a pair lower than 88 in his range I think I have to call with only 20ish big blinds. I tanked forever and finally called. He had AK I flop good, turn give me an open ended straight draw, turn o hi der Mr. King! GG me. So FTOPS and FTOPS sattys sucked (except the 3 siper sattys I won for $55 each).
WCOOP is coming up really soon. I'm going to try to play the $215 Triple Draw and possibly the $215 HORSE. I'm going to try and look and sell some pieces of myself in these events if people are interested otherwise I'm probably going to try and satty in and if not probably take a shot out of bankroll. I'll probably play some $1/$3 rebuys and some of the $5/$10 guarentees on stars, and railbirds trnys of course. So that's my upcoming plans.

Ok first of all, I will finish my updates on the MSOP events. Sorry about missing some updates. My biggest cash of the whole series was for like $400ish by finishing 11th in the $11 donakment that ha like 5000+ people. Long story short, I shove about 16 big blinds with QQ when a player opened in middle position, he snapped called with AJ. I floped a queen but he caught runner runner straight to eliminate me. If I win that pot I would have been 2nd in chips with 11 to go and had a huge chance to claim the first prize of $10k. O well. I played some other events. I had huge chip counts in the Razz and HORSE, but in both I couldn't catch a cold and bubbled. I played the Limit Hold'em Shootout and won my first table and finished 3rd on the second table, so that was pretty good. I finished the MSOP up a lot, but I could have been up a lot more.
Now, I'm jsut playin occasional Railbirds that have good equity. I'm starting to play the $11 mtts and $1/$3 rebuys. You can also find me playing $1/$2 HORSE, Triple Draw and sometimes I will mix in Omaha 8 and Stud 8 $1/$2. Also I've been playing .25/.50 PLO with a $20 cap. I'm slow grinding my bankroll up and I like the direction I'm heading. I'm also trying to qualify for some FTOPS and WCOOP. I'm almost certain I'm going to be playing in the 2-7 WCOOP even if I don't win a seat. I bubbled a seat a couple days ago. I had chip lead from 40 down to the final 4 when I lost a big pot that would have given me twice as many chips as the table combine. I stood on an 23468 and my opponent hit a 23458 on the final draw. O well, 4th when top 2 got seats (1st got the $215, 2nd basically a seat which was $200).
I'm starting school in a couple weeks, so I don't kno how much I will update the blog. But I will try to update at least a couple times a month. Maybe once every 2 weeks and if I forget shoot me a pm on yahoo, aim, railbirds, etc. Peace for now!
2 of my favorite songs below! Just shows the greatness of Pearl Jam! The first song is from 2006 and the 2nd 1994 and they're both great! Just shows that PJ will never die!
Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town (aka Small Town for obv reasons). It might have one of my favorite lines in any song ever. " I changed by not changing at all, small town predicts my fate/perhaps that' what no one wants to see"
Rearviewmirror. Might be the best song they've made. Definetly in my top 5! In the viedo, this might be the best rehearsal ever imo! Definetly the best live band ever! Eddie Vedder is my hero!

I've been kind of lazy with my updates lately, so I'm going to catch you guys up on my continueinug MSOP tournament schedule. I think the 3 events we're missing are the $20 NL, the $15 6 Max NL, and the $15 limit hold'em/ I'm basically going to break down a few key hands in each and that's about it. Nothing like the previous update blogs I have written.
$20 No Limit Hold'em event: I never really got anything going. I don't think I ever got above 3500 chips in the event. I'd win a pot, I'd lose a pot. I'd win a pot, I'd lose a pot. My stack was yo-yoing from the original starting stack and I didn't get anything going. During the 50/100 level a guy utg raise to 300 I have QQ and 3 bet to 925 he shoves I call the rest of my 3k stack and he has KK and I bust. Nice cooler to end the tournament.
$15 6 max No Limit Hold'em Event: I really didn't get anything going. Everyone at my table basically outplayed me the first hour and I couldn't connect to the flop. I doubled up with T9s on a T886 board when a guy called me with AQ. Later I got back to 2k and double with KK versus JJ and got up to 4k. When this hand happened.
An active played raise it up. I re-raise 45% of my stack with AQo. Long story short we got all the chips in preflop with me holding AQo and I was facing KK and AA. To say I was dominated was an understatement. KT7 flop. O hi der J on turn, blank on river and I tripled up. I won another big hand when I had TT on a 678 two club board guy shoved on me. If it was rainbow I fold but he's line screams flush draw. He had 888, I turned a ten and got basically doubled again.
After that hand I got moved to a new table and basically started to play some of the best poker I have ever played. I basically chipped up from 24k to 110k without showing down except for a few smallish blind versus blind hands. A couple keys hands to this.
I have 49k; villian has 33k. Blinds: 600/1200 ante 125. I raised to 2925 with K6o from the button. Villian calls. Flop: 753 two spades. He check-calls my bet of 3650. Turn: J of diamonds. He check-calls again my bet of 8345. River: The 8 of spades. He checks I shove all-in and he basically insta-folds. So my king high took that hand. I 3 bet a guys button raise with J7o @ 600/1200 he raised to 3.6k I re-raised to 13k and he fold. This hand was the 2nd biggest hand of the tournament for me:
My stack: 69k Villian's stack: 62k Blinds: 800/1600 ante 200. Villian raises to 4.6k from the cutoff, the button flat calls and I flat from the big blind with AJo. Flop: Q52 two clubs. I check, villian bets 7k, button folds and I raise with air to 19.2k. Villian calls. Turn: king of diamonds. I check, villian checks. River: Q of diamonds. I bet 24.5k which leaves him with about 12k if he calls. He tanks it for a little bit and fold and my ace high rakes in the pot.
This hand is what gave me a huge stack. My stack: 109k Villian's Stack: 43k. Blinds: 1500/3k ante 400. I raise from the cutoff with A5 of diamonds to 7250. The big blind (who is the same guy I just played that big pot with) calls. Flop: AK6 two hearts. BB checks I bet 9k, villian minraises to 18k which is over half his stack. I didn't think he had an ace so I shove. He tanks forever and eventually calls with KQo. Turn: 2 hearts River: 9 hearts. Nobody has hearts and I win the pot and I'm up to 155k. The following hand hearts me inside. This pot would ahve put me in the chip with like 80 people (dont remember the exact number). My stack: 155k Villian's stack: 100k Blinds: 1500/3k ante 400. Info on the villian: He just check-called a short stack shove with J9s, he seem very spewing and liked to make moves. I raise from utg with 77 to 7250. Villian calls from the small blind. Flop: 654 rainbow. Villian checks, I bet 9k, villian then re-raises the pot which is 33k. At this point he could have anything overs, maybe 67, and a set. He has about 60 behind, so I think I have a little equity to shove with an over pair to the baord and an open-ended straight draw and if I shove he can fold the overs. Folding is an option, flat is an option but not one I'm going to take. I shove for 60k more he calls with 44 with bottom set. Turn: 5 of clubs pairing the board. River: 8 of clubs giving me my straight but not enough. So a pot of 205k s raked to the villian. After the hand I still had 55k. and basically went card dead I double at the 2500/5k level when I pushed with QJo and won a 60/40 versus ATo. I gave a little back and finally I shoved like 88k at 4k/8k with Q7s when I was the tournament short stack got called by AQ and I was done. Finishing in 25th place out of like 1900 for somehting like $150.
$15 Limit Hold'em Event: I consider my limit hold'em game to be better than my No Limit game. I just liek limit a lot better. I won one big pot when I had KK and had the betting capped 4 ways @ 25/50 and got one player to call me down to the river with AK high. And raked a big pot. I lost a big pot with AK to KQ when the guy got all-in on the flop with KQ and turned a queen. I lsoe a pot against the same guy after spewing away some of my chips I had AT against his Q2 and he hit a queen. I on a big pot @ 100/200 with AK against a guys stone bluff with 64 on a KQT52 board. He raised my bet on the turn and I check called his bet on the river. And I won a big pot. This hand shows some of my limit skills. My stack: 6k Villian Stack: 7k. Blinds: 100/200. I raise utg with TT. Get a middle position caller and the villian calls on the button. Flop: AAK 2 diamonds. I bet, he calls. Turn: 3 of spades. I bet, he raise, I put in a 3rd bet and he calls. He puts in a 4th bet, I can check fold. I know he doesn't have an ace and most likely not a king. River: 7 of spades. I bet, he folds. I basically chipped up to 11k when I lost AA to KJ when he rivered a 3rd jack and I lost 35% of my chips. I lost some more chips blind versus blind I had 64 of diamonds on an A25 board with 2 diamonds against a guy with KT no diamonds. I basically had 18 outs twice and bricked out and lose about a 6k pot. I eventually got all-in with AK versus QQ on the flop and lost that last and busted liked 90 from the money. This one was disappointing because I earned every chip I got and lost basically every big showdown I was end. A lot fo people made a ton of mistakes but just run like a god and suck out or whatever.
The MSOP is going really well for me. I've cashed twice finished 82nd, and 25th in 5500 and 2k person fields and cahsed for about $200 between those so I have some money to play more events and hopefully get a big score. I've bubbled a pot limit and limit hold'em tournaments, and got coolered in the other event I entered. I've played 5 Hold'em events which wasn't the plan, but I skipped the Omaha 8 or better event because I didn't feel like playing and the Omaha 8/ Stud 8 Mixed Event I wanted to concentrate on the 6 max event because I was deep and skipped that event as well. I'm really going to play more mixed games events because those are a strength of mine. I think I'm better than the average player in every event I enter, but the average player in a no limit hold'em (or hold'em in gerneral) is a lot better than the average player in an omaha 8 or stud 8 event. So I think my edge over the average player is greater in the mixed games than the hold'em but we will see.
So this coming week my schedule looks like this (tentative of course).
Sunday: $10 NL Hold'em F/o and $20 Limit Omaha 8 or better F/o
Monday: $15 NL Hold'em Shootout
Tuesday: $15 PL Omaha and $20 Limit Hold'em
Wednesday: $30 HORSE (pending satelites)
Thursday: $20 NL Hold'em F/o and $25 HA (PL Hold'em/Omaha)
Friday: $100 NL Hold'em Heads-Up (pending satelites) and $15 Razz
Saturday: $15 NL Hold'em F/o
I'm probably not going to play all of these events. I left a few out because of cost. I really want to play the HORSE and Heads-up events but we will see how those go. Anyways, come rail me but keep the attention off of me please. One good luck is enough. I want to be under the radar. I love the railers though. Stay tuned because I should be deep in many more tournaments!

So the the MSOP $16 Pot Limit Hold'em tournament was today. The field wasn't as big as event 2 but still had 1700 people in the field and a prize pool of almost 26k with 5.3k going to 1st place. This was basically my first pot limit hold'em tournament I had ever played, so it was interesting to say the less. The biggest thing is pot limit awards patience because there are no antes so there is less of an incentive to steal blinds inless the people in the blinds are complete nits.3k starting stack and 12 minute levels equals an amazing structure. There are a lot more hands than event 2 just because there more interesting than event 2 where I basically had chips handed to me. Today was totally opposite. I basically earned everything.
This first hand was really the only big hand I won the whole tournament. Blinds are 20/40. I raise utg to 110 with KQs, a player in middle position 3 bets to 240 (basically a min raise) and the player on the button flat calls the 3 bet. Here there is no way I'm good but I call just because I have huge implied odds in the hand. The flop come K82 two diamonds. Surprisingly, it checks around. The turn is the J of clubs. I check, MP checks, and the button bets 500. Now i just flat call cuse I'm almost certain they would bet a king on the flop. MP folds. The river is the T of diamonds putting a straight and flush on the board. I check and the button bets pot! Now I think he would bet a little less with a flush or straight so he's either bluffing with air or he's bluffing with a weird played AA or AK. I tanked for about half my time bank and ultimately called. And to my surprise he flip of the monster that is 66 and I dragged in a good pot. Basically I went completely dead after that and I went into turbo nitzilla mode. Fold, fold, fold, raise weeeeee blinds, fold, fold, fold! Intill this hand way at 100/200!
I have 4800 at 100/200 and get AKo utg+2. I raise it up to 500 and get a call from the button who has about 4100. Flop comes 763 2 diamonds. I lead for 775 and the button calls. The turn is the 6 of hearts. I read have no idea what he has, so when in doubt bet(not really but when youhave an extrememly nitty image it might be the smart thing to do). I lead for pot which is 2850 basically putting him all in. He tanks for a few and folds. Bluffing with the best hand, I love it!
It folds to me on the button with the blinds at 120/240 and I have 6k in my stack. I riase it to 575 with 98s,the big blind calls and we see a flop. FLop comes 987 rainbow. Big blind checks and I bet 675. Big blind min raises me. Now here he could have a whole bunch of hands. JT, 65s for the straight, a naked ten for a straight draw, maybe even a nine, and of course air. There is no way I'm folding and I think flat calling is terrible. So i repot to like 5k which is probably too much but any raise is committing my whole stack. He insta-folded. Oh! missed oppurtunities.
I had a little Sowers in me in this hand. 150/300 blinds folds to the button who limps.Small blind folds and I check 49o. Flop comes 355 two spades. I check button bets 300, I raise to 900, button folds. Weeeeeeee. I can bluff! Thank you Mr. Mike Sowers you are a hero!
Basically after this hand I couldn't find anything any essentially got down to where if I raised I was playing my whole stack. So basically for an hour I just bet pot stole the blinds and never had any trouble intill my bust out had. At this point we are about 10 from the bubble, but I'm not one to try and sneak into the money. Blinds are 500/1k and I have like 9-10k (dont remember). I have KK and pot it to 3.5k.Fols around to the big blind who re-pops it to put me all-in. I insta call and he has 77. Finally the double hand that I was looking for for 2 and a half hours. I dont remember the board. All blanks on the flop, the turn gave him a gutterball straight draw, and the river said gg Mr. Baseball Tim when the 7 spiked on the river! So i busted like 8 from the money. Weeeeeee another bubble for me!
I'm not really sure how much I like pot limit holdem. Basically once I got down to 12 big blinds I didn't know what to do. So basically I think I did the right which was bet pot to maximize my fold equity. Anyways bubbling really sucks, but folding KK to make the money is terrible tournament stragety. I double up right there I have room to play some poker and make it deep. Bubbling sucks ass but I tihnk I played really well. How I even made it that far in the first place, I will never know. I had one big pair which was my bust out had, AK once, and AQ a shit load of times with 10 big blinds which never got any action. Anyways, I'm probably playing the $16 Omaha 8 or better tomorrow, so stay tuned for my updates from that tournament!

So I played the MSOP Event #2 on Full Tilt today. It was a $16 donkament like 5000 someodd players with like a 80k prize pool and $15.5k for first. Here's a little write up of my tournament experience. I'm going to be doing something similar to this in all the MSOP events I go deep in. No official hand history so bare with me on the hands I desribe.
The first hour of the tournament I played fairly snug picking up pot here and there trying to get a tight image. I won a fairly nice pot with 77. A coouple limpers and I limp on the button with 77. Flop AT7 2 diamonds. Early position player bets 1/3 pot and I raised. Turn was a blank and villian checked I fired and he called. River was another blank and I fired and he folded. And moved up to about 4k on that hand. That was about the only hand that was of any importance in the first hour.
The next huge hand was during the 2nd or 3rd hour so I'm not such of the blinds. I raised like 2.5 times the big blind w/ AQo and get one caller. The flop was QJ9 2 dimaonds I c-bet and other player calls. The turn is the 8 of diamonds putting a 4 card straight on the board and 3 diamonds (I have the ace of diamonds). I check and he shoves like 3.2k into a 2.6k pot. I think for a second and dont think he has a ten and if he has 2 pair I have resuck outs and I call. He shows AJ and i double up on that hand.
I won KK versus AK for another decent pot. This was another big hand. I raised 66 utg+1 and get one caller in the small blind (not sure of the blinds). Flop is AJ6 2 diamonds (maybe hearts don't remember). He check-called my contiuation bet. The turn brought a blank but it but 2 flush draws on board. At least point there is about 13k in the pot. Normally I would bet something like 7k or 8k into the pot but I thought they had like a draw or maybe a weak ace, so I shoved 17k into the pot. I thought I looked way weak and could get called by a weak ace maybe even a flush draw but he folded.
I cant really think of any big hands between that one and the bubble besides two. I called a raise wth 99 and check raised all-in on a 722 flop and took down the pot. Another hand a player limp utg I have KK and raise it up... he shoves with TT and of course i call. FLOP AK5 all clubs he has a club. Turn is a Q. River J! O hi der mr. straight! That pot woulda put me into the top 15 on the bubble, but I still had a good stack.
Basically between the bubble and a little after I ran like god. I won a bunch of short stack races and coolers. I raise AQs and get shoved on by 8 bbs. I call obviously and suck out on AK. I won an A9 > KK 8 bb shove and I won a 44 > Q9s race.
There's about 2 other hands of importance before my bust out hand. The blinds are @ 2500/5k. It's folded around to the bubble who raises to 13k. He has about 67k behind and had been very aggressive raising the button a lot of times when it folded around to him. The big blind has about 58k and I had 132k. I shoved with 55 and the big blind and button fold. This next hand could have been huge for the tournament. Blinds are 3k/6k. utg+3 min raised to 12k. the next guy calls and I hold KK. I raised it up to 42.2k. The original raiser goes into the tank. He has about 130k (or something around there). While hes in the tank another player is egging him on to call. I had been fairly aggressive with my 3-bets (always had a hand) and he pretty much thought of me as a lagtard. Eventually he folded claiming he had AQ (probably offsuit). Tht hand would of put me at like 300k and top 10 in chips. But I was still good.
After that hand I basically went card dead and had terrible position. Basically all the stacks to my left had 15 big blinds or less so any pot I opened I basically had to call a shove. Also, the antes on tilt are so huge that it eats away at your stack if you go a few rounds without playing. I basically got down to like 120k @ 5k/10k. A short stack shoved like 98k or soemthing from the hijack and I had 66 in the big blind. I basically said lets gamble, called and he flipped over 77 and he had me dominated board missed and I had like 18k left. Next hand he raised it up I had 5k in the big blind and 10k left so I called with 98 and lost that hand as well and was out in 82nd place.
After about 5 and half hours of play, it's a little disappointing to come away with only about $100. I was so close to hitting that big score that I seriously need for my bankroll. However, I do have some money that I can play some more MSOP events and hopefully he it big in those. Finishing 82nd out of 5300 people in this donkfest was something I think is a good accomplishment. I'm probably going to play the Pot Limit Hold'em on Monday, so look for another update like this one and if you don't see one Monday night or Tuesday morning, I probably donked out. Stay for more updates on all of these MSOP events.
Not much to update in terms of me playing poker. I played the $1 Million dollar Turbo Takedown and bubbled it obviously! I played extrmemly well and had a good stack. If it had been a normal blind level structure I would have made it deep, but anyways I bubbled that. My bust out hand. Blinds are 300/600 and I have about 8k. I raise to 1450 with AKo. A big stack to my direct left re-raises to 3k. Normally this is an instapush and please win a flip, but I was almost certain his range was exactly KK+. I even said outloud AA obvoius but I pushed anyways and he had AA. Hello Mr. Bubble. How are you today? I finished like 4200something and 4k got paid. O well, another bubble to hang on my wall.
The World Series of Poker is starting up and I'm extrememly excited. Not because I'm playing. I'm too young obviously, but just because this is the most exciting time of year for poker. I love following these events just because its enteraining. I always have a little prop bet with some guys. We each got 20 guys and the most bracelets wins. My guys are as follows: Allen Cunningham, Erik Seidel, Scott "BigRiskky" Clements, Bill Edler, Justin Bonomo, John Phan, Jon "PearlJammer" Turner, JC Tran, Daniel Alelei, Rafi Amit, Jonathan "FieryJustice" Little, Gavin Griffin, Joe Sebok, Huck Seed, Chris Reslock, Chad Brown, David Williams, Eli Elizrea, John Hennigan, Tom "Durrr" Dwan. So please root for these guys to ship some bracelets. I would apprecaite it.
Also Full Tilt is running a Mini Series of Poker where the buy ins a 1/100th of the buy in of the WSOP event that it corresponds to. I'm going to play a few of these events. Hopefully I can get a decent cash in the first few so I don't have to get some swaping action going on. I know Brian, TheMatrix, is playing a lot too. So hopefully we can get some big cashes. Theres a lot of $30 and under tournaments so I'm excited about those, and the main event has $250k added to a $100 freezeout, so that's pretty sick. I'm hoping to play a lot of the mixed game events since thats my strong point. Too bad Full Tilt doesn't have 2-7 Triple Draw, that would be my favorite events of the whole series. Let's get some triple draw on Full Tilt!!! Please and thank you! Good luck to all the people playing in the WSOP and MSOP events. I will have updates on all events I play and if anyone I like in the high stakes world ships a bracelet. So stay tuned! 2 Atreyu videos just cuse they're badass!

So I havent been able to write in blogs lately and there are a lot of reasons for this. Probably because I havent been playing much, so there really isn't anything to write or analysis. Anyways, I'm finally done with school. Finals were a complete pain in my ass, but I'm done and over with. Longview was okay, but I'm happy to get out of that school and go to a place I really want to go to. Missouri, here I come!
As some of you know my baby brother has finally arived. Chace was born May 12 at 5:46pm. He 9 lbs 8 oz. 20 in long(I'll post pics once I get them uploaded on my computer). Right now hes just like me, eats and sleeps. I'm liking it right now! So thats soemthing thats pretty cool thats going on right now.
So I think FTOPS sattys just hate me. Somehow I find a way to bubble every time I play one of these. It makes me want to seriously jump off a bridge face first into a concrete surface. It's just so sick! Myabe it's my own fault for playing in limit sattys or playing in tournaments where the average person in the field is a complete and utter idiot! Whatever, I will succeed in these one of these days.
I'm probably gonna start putting in some volume in the coming future, so you can expect some mind blowing blogs from the insane mind of myself. Hopefully I can get my poker game out of the muck its in your now! For now, peace and love! Outtie!
*EDIT*
Ship the Million $ Turbo Takedown entry. Remember how bad I ran on tilt? I ran twice as good on stars. Although I was only behind one time and crush that guys hopes and dreams. I think at the final 4 we had a guy all in and behind 4 times and they sucked out to stay alive, but i prevailed in the end. Next stop 100k! tyty

Ok so my last few days have been interesting to say the least. I play the $10 20k donkament which i documented in my last blog. Later that night I was bored and just play a $10 sit n donkament! I ended up winning that for $40 or something but I'm going to tell you about a hand and you figure out why later! We are heads up I have a slight lead. I get A3o on the button and raise it up, opponent calls. the flop comes K43 two hearts. opponent checks I fire a contiuation bet and he calls. The turn is a K but not a heart. He checks again, and I check behind afraid of maybe a check raised king. The river is another blank and he leads for an almost pot size bet and in chat i say "miss hears?" and call. He shows A9 of hearts for a busted heart draw! This will be important later.
So I got bored an decided to play the $3 rebuy with a 25k guarentee on stars. I basically ran incredibly well and have about 21k after the first break. I coasted after the break getting up to about 25k but finished the hour with about 21k again. After this break I was patient big up pots got up to around 30k then lost a hand were i made a bad read with JJ v QT and got down to like 12k. I grinded this stack out adn finished in like 240th for like around $50. This is way the weirdness of the day begins.
I was making myself some dinner but was still on my computer watching PearlJammer play, watching some other big tournaments, etc., so when I get a new email it pops up at the bottom of my screen on messenger. So I seen "Money Transfer" Stars Support! So I got my dinner came back and the email was gone! Weird! I forgot, earlier in the day, some tried logging into my fulltilt account why I was logged in but that brought up warning signs, so I tried to change all my passwords. So now I try and check my email again, but my password doesn't work. I am still on yahoo messenger at this time though. I try and log into my poker accounts and those are not working either. Somehow I am still on my fulltilt and change the email to a NEW email account I made and got a temp password. I transferred all my money out of the account. I also emailed stars and they froze my account. This is way it really gets weird. I'm talking to like Christi, Brian, Dave, and a few others who are trying to help me out. So Christi and a few others get a messege from my new email account (I'll post the conversation I had with the hacker below). The hacker had gotten on yahoo messenger under the new account I made. Yes, he hacked my new email address as well. So below is the conversation I had with said hacker. I'm x'ing out important information to me.

jays_baseball07 (4/27/2008 10:07:26 PM): so ur mmatt2008?
tim.lindsay21 (4/27/2008 10:07:28 PM): and wow, it was your town?
tim.lindsay21 (4/27/2008 10:07:48 PM): nope, thats a random id i made
tim.lindsay21 (4/27/2008 10:07:52 PM): its in berlin, right?

tim.lindsay21 (4/27/2008 10:08:43 PM): and i think their id was mmatt2005 or somethin
tim.lindsay21 (4/27/2008 10:08:49 PM): so i just made it as mmatt2008
jays_baseball07 (4/27/2008 10:09:04 PM): ok
tim.lindsay21 (4/27/2008 10:09:05 PM): anyway
tim.lindsay21 (4/27/2008 10:09:18 PM): your railbirds pw was sent as xxxxx
tim.lindsay21 (4/27/2008 10:09:25 PM): so i changed your yahoo pw to that
jays_baseball07 (4/27/2008 10:09:35 PM): ya

tim.lindsay21 (4/27/2008 10:10:51 PM): it asks you a bunch of stuff if you were a real money player
tim.lindsay21 (4/27/2008 10:11:02 PM): like your email addy and your address

tim.lindsay21 (4/27/2008 10:29:03 PM): there shouldnt be any problems
I'm just happy I got my email secure. Once I found out about the poker sites, everything was handled in quick time so I was safe there. My email though was important. I have everything on the net linked to that account. My poker sites, all the forums, I'm on, I have my school email and homework forward to that account, all my facebook/myspace/etc are link to it as well. But it's safe now. But not we have information on this guy. When he hacked my fulltilt account, he changed the address. Also, we have other information on this guy like ip address and other things, so I'll keep you posted on that development! Crazy Shit! Crazy Shit!
I'm x'ing out important information to me.

tim.lindsay21 (4/27/2008 10:06:39 PM): and i was in,
tim.lindsay21 (4/27/2008 10:07:01 PM): so i figured id try to figure out what your yahoo password was before you figured out i found it out
tim.lindsay21 (4/27/2008 10:07:11 PM): and i had your railbirds password sent to your email
jays_baseball07 (4/27/2008 10:07:26 PM): so ur mmatt2008?

tim.lindsay21 (4/27/2008 10:09:25 PM): so i changed your yahoo pw to that

tim.lindsay21 (4/27/2008 10:10:51 PM): it asks you a bunch of stuff if you were a real money player
tim.lindsay21 (4/27/2008 10:11:02 PM): like your email addy and your address
tim.lindsay21 (4/27/2008 10:11:09 PM): i knew one

tim.lindsay21 (4/27/2008 10:11:21 PM): so i searched for it
tim.lindsay21 (4/27/2008 10:11:32 PM): and i had no luck finding your actual address
tim.lindsay21 (4/27/2008 10:11:45 PM): then i figured id try xxxxx
tim.lindsay21 (4/27/2008 10:11:51 PM): and it opened lmao
tim.lindsay21 (4/27/2008 10:12:04 PM): i was like, this guy needs to learn something

Crazy Shit! Crazy Shit!

So I got bored today and decided to play the $10 $20k Guarentee on PokerStars. I play fairly tight and got 2 basically double ups. I won 2 races for a change with AK vs 99 and another AK vs JJ. I basically just grinded out the whole tournament and basically finsihed 163 out of 2677. I'm sad that stars pay outs are so flat that I only made $32, but oh well. I'm going to post a few hands that I thought were intersting in the tournament which I will do after almost all my poker tournament blogs.
This first hand is basically a good example of an agressive play that didn't work out. Both of these players a fairly tight but I play fairly good against both of their ranges. The hand before the first play raised and the caller in the hand below 3-bet him and the original raiser folded. So this hand I figured the origial raiser was raising a little lighter than usually. The second guys flat call didnt look too strong to me, so basically I thought I had both players range beat. So basically the only way the villians are going to win the hand is having me beat cuse a push from them isn't going to get me to fold as I'm getting 2 to 1 against a range where I'm racing a good percent of the time.

This next hand is one that I think I played really well given the situation. I was just moved to the table about 5 hands earlier and don't really have a read on the opponent. He min raises and I flat call. I basically flat call to keep the pot small and also if I raise and get shoved on I basically have to fold as I'm dominated and racing against his range. So I basically flat call the flop for pot control. Also if I raise and he shoves on me I basically have to fold. So I thought I played this hand well.

The final hand is my bust out hand. I basically am trying to find a place to double or go home. I have 7 big blinds and a fairly active table, so I'm not getting very many chances to open push a hand. If you see in the chat after the hand the guy says lol 5 6. The table closed so I didn't get a chance to respond, but here's my reasoning behind the push. 1) I have 7 big blinds and need a double. 2) I have enough fold equity to steal the blinds and antes. 3) I'm never going to have a hand call me that has a 5 or 6 in it inless it is 55 or 66 so I'll have live cards. 4) I'm only a 35/65 dog to hands like AK, AQ, AJ, etc. which is fine by me with 7 big blinds. 5) Pray someone doesn't have an over pair! So there's my reasoning behind this push.

So I made like $22 from this tournament which is disappointing but its just more buy-ins to try for the big prize at the end of the rainbow. I probably won't write many blogs the next couple weeks as I have like 1 and half weeks left of the semester and then finals. So enjoy this one!

So i ended up finished second in the $300 Railbirds tournament. I was basically in cruise control the whole time. I think I played extremely well, and got extremely unlucky heads up. About with 11 left, I raised from the small blind with 66 blind versus blind. The big blind shoved like 18 big blinds about 80% of my stack. I some how called and won the race. I basically controlled the final table to my liking. I eventualy got down to the final 3 with about 100k and 135k in play. I shoved on the big blind bvb @ 800/1600. He had about 15k. I had A2, he instacalled KQ and obviously hit a queen. Had a hand earlier 3 hand. Where the small blind shoved 8 big blinds with QJ suited and I called with K4 off and lost that one too. So we got heads up, I basically controlled the match except for one hand where the guy min bet called my 5x raise with bottom pair against my obvious air. So i basically got my money in good and got killed! He's the massacre:

I did time bank it. I knew he had a jack, jack nine was a possiblity but I'm never folding in that spot. He obvious hits his suckout and I lose yet another heads up where I dominate the match and lose because I run worse short handed than anyone. Anyways its more points towards first and that $12k package!
